MIKIOSAKABE Dropped a Capsule Inspired by the Anime World of 'Evangelion'

Transforming sci-fi action into a lineup of futuristic bags and shoes.

Japanese designer Mikio Sakabe is bringing the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion into fashion with a new capsule collection inspired by the iconic sci-fi anime. The collection features seven footwear and bag styles that reinterpret Evangelion’s instantly recognizable visual language through MIKIOSAKABE’s signature approach.

Drawing from the series’ striking color palette, futuristic motifs and exploration of identity, the brand transforms elements of the anime’s universe into wearable designs that blur the line between fiction and reality. The collection reflects the designer’s fascination with Evangelion’s layered storytelling, embracing themes of ambiguity, imperfection and individuality.

Each piece channels the emotional complexity and experimental spirit of the series, merging playful references with MIKIOSAKABE’s distinctive aesthetic. From statement shoes to sculptural accessories, the capsule offers fans a new way to engage with Evangelion’s enduring cultural impact.

The collection is now available for pre-order on the brand’s website.
