Collina Strada Took Us on a Detour for SS27

Getting in touch with art and nature for a rebellious new collection.

Drawing the fashion crowd out of the city for an outdoor adventure, Collina Strada put on the show of a lifetime for Spring/Summer 2027. Etching out a long, grassy, picturesque runway at the iconic Storm King Art Center in Orange County, the collection was a necessary escape from the concrete jungle, offering nature and fantasy instead.

Known for its ruffles, prints, charms and maximalist designs, Collina Strada SS27 is just as fun as one would expect. Merging Victorian and Medieval style with grungy, punk-rock design codes, the new season is all about rebellion and the early stages of personal style and self-expression. Oversized silhouettes arrive in vibrant colors fit for the season, crafted from deadstock fabrics, chiffon, organza and recycled sequins.

The idea of reinventing something old flows through the collection, taking silhouettes and styles from ages past and giving them a modern, Collina Strada makeover in see-through fabrics and deadstock fleece. With the models weaving through mammoth steel sculptures, dragonflies and wildflowers, the showcase was unforgettable, from the curated soundtrack to the flowing capes and billowing sleeves.

Always one of the more exciting shows on the calendar, a few twists and turns were essential. Debuting two new footwear collaborations with KEEN and Converse, the new shoes kept every look grounded in the Collina Strada aesthetic. The Keen designs gave the usual ruffled aesthetic a gorpcore-inspired update, while the Converse collab drew inspiration from the duo’s previous creations, reimagining them from a dancer’s perspective.

Closing the show with a bang, Carly Rae Jepsen stepped out in a custom Collina Strada look to serenade the models for the final walk, before an impromptu dance party placed the cherry on top of an already carefree, joyful and incredibly beautiful presentation.
