Awake NY's FW18 Collection Includes a T-Shirt with Michelle Obama's Graduation Photo

“When they go low, we go high.”

Having already seen the brand’s Mid-Summer 2018 collection rife with plenty of bold graphics, Awake NY now returns with an equally vibrant range. Comprised of wardrobe staples such as hoodies, long-sleeve tees and T-shirts, each item is emblazoned with either a unique motif or the label’s hallmark text logo. This time around, the program also includes a particularly cop-worthy tee featuring the former FLOTUS, Michelle Obama.

In what appears to be a traditional graduation photo, the young Michelle Obama is pictured within a classic gold picture frame and below is a quote from the ex-First Lady herself. Her famous “when they go low, we go high” motto was first heard in her 2016 speech delivered at the Democratic Convention. Since then, it has become a well-known mantra to inspire anyone who has experienced cruelty to rise above. Rounding off the collection is also a selection of bags that include a backpack and duffle option, both designed with an allover Awake print.

The new Awake NY FW18 collection is slated to drop on November 6 at awakenyclothing.com, as well as at select stockists such as Dover Street Market New York, Ginza, I.T Beijing Market, Union LA and Tokyo, Patta London and Amsterdam, The Hip Store Leeds, Slam Jam Milano, Supply Sydney and OCTOBER Moscow. You can view the lookbook in the gallery above.
