Off-White™ Is Now Ranked the Top Fashion Brand in the World, Here's Why
Followed by Gucci and Balenciaga.
During the summer, Gucci was labeled the top fashion brand. Now, according to the Lyst‘s Q3 Index, Virgil Abloh‘s line Off-White™, has taken the highly coveted number one position. If you’ve been keeping your ear to the ground, this news would come as no surprise. For women, the label’s Industrial Belt was ranked the second, most-purchased piece of the summer. If you take a look at your social media, we’re sure a few of your friends copped it.
It’s important to note that for the first time ever, the Lyst Index is incorporating social media metrics which includes brand follower growth and multi-platform product mentions. With that being said, following behind Off-White™ are Gucci, Balenciaga, Nike, and Prada. Gucci’s whimsical Cruise 2018 and Sylvie handbag campaigns contributed to its top spot on the Index, while Balenciaga’s revamped Speed Trainer and Triple-S sneaker led to the Demna Gvasalia-led fashion house snatching up the third slot.
Nike secured the fourth position thanks to its wildly successful “The Ten” collaboration with Abloh. Following the debut of the Off-White™ x Nike “QUEEN” collection on Serena Williams at the U.S. Open it led to more than one million social mentions. Notably, Nike’s M2K Tekno sneakers are ranked the fifth most-purchased sneakers in Q3.
