Get Ready to See Pantone's Color of the Year – "Living Coral" – Everywhere in 2019

Stay ahead of the trend.

“Ultra Violet” was Pantone’s Color of the Year 2018 but its reign is over as the shade matching experts have determined that “Living Coral” will take over the title for 2019.

The almost-orange, almost-pink in-between tone is a rare gem, in that it’s a tone that’s almost universally flattering. The team at Pantone shared the reasoning behind their selection, indicating it’s a “reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life.” Additionally Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of The Pantone Color Institute declared the following:

“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral. With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”

Alongside being a standout option for interiors, it’s a popular choice for apparel, sneakers and beauty too. Get ahead of the trend with our top picks, like Glossier’s Cloud Paint blush in “Dawn,” Burberry’s pinky-peach backpack and Converse’s pale coral Chuck Taylors.
