GANNI's Debut Denim Collection Is All Cool Silhouettes and Sugary Pastel Tones

It’s the denim of our dreams.

Danish label GANNI is the epitome of cool, contemporary Scandinavian style – a playful twist on the traditionally minimal fashion sensibilities usually affiliated with the region. Spring/Summer 2018 marks the brand’s first real foray into denim and in true GANNI style, it’s a unique, effortlessly stylish collection that reimagines how we see, and wear, denim.

Available exclusively at NET-A-PORTER, the line comprises of staple pieces like jackets and jeans, all of which have been designed with a slightly unconventional approach. Jackets are cropped to the bust or constructed with additional panels on the back, each with exaggerated sleeves and jeans see an ultra wide-leg silhouette, seemingly inspired by ’70s bell-bottoms but decidedly modern. There’s also a long-line denim skirt that at first-glance retains the shape of a pair of jeans, but with supplementary panels added in.

The color palette ranges between classic – indigo denim and white – alongside sugar-coated pastel tones like orange, sherbet yellow and pale lilac. The laid-back feel of the collection is complemented by simple design details, like visible stitching, silver-tone hardware and pockets, as well as GANNI‘s exposed label which is stitched upon the back of the jeans – in the middle, rather than hidden away on the side where brand’s typically place their branding on denim.

Denim has been a style staple worldwide since it was first created, but GANNI have truly reinvigorated garments that are such integral part of people’s everyday wardrobes. Browse through some of the lookbook images above and shop the range exclusively at NET-A-PORTER.com. If Scandinavian brands are your thing, check out Acne Studios’ Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
