COMME des GARÇONS and Nike Are Releasing a Must-Have Heeled Sneaker
Meet the Machomai boots.
COMME des GARÇONS‘ Spring/Summer 2018 show at Paris Fashion Week last September was a classic Rei Kawakubo narrative on shape and graphics – with the abstract and anime-like art comprising the latter. The CdG x Nike Machomai boots that debuted would later be succeeded by an Air Max 180 and Cortez collaboration.
The boots will soon release at Dover Street Market in three custom colorways including green, blue and black. The original Nike Machomai boxing silhouette was used to construct the upper and attached over a heeled-leather bottom – complete with split seams and white stitching.
The remade Machomai will drop in-store at Dover Street Market on June 7, priced at approximately $1300 USD.
