
doublet Is the Winner of the 2018 LVMH Prize

LVMH has announced Masayuki Ino’s doublet as the Grand Prize winner of 2018 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers. Ino will receive £300,000 EUR (approx. $353,145 USD) in addition to a yearlong mentorship on behalf of a member of the LVMH team. The Special Prize was awarded to Rokh helmed by designer Rok Hwang. According to Business of Fashion, the designated mentors include Sophie Brocart, senior vice president of LVMH’s fashion ventures, and chief executive of Nicholas Kirkwood.
The Japanese streetwear brand which was launched in 2012 shows exclusively during Tokyo Fashion Week. doublet impressed the judges with its urban design details paired with its unconventional silhouettes. Additionally, Rok Hwang will receive a grant of £150,000 EUR (approx. $176,572 USD) and a one-year mentorship as well.
This year’s LVMH Prize received over 1,300 applications from more than 90 countries. Last year designer Marine Serre took home the top award. Stay tuned here for further updates.
