adidas Rides the Hallyu Wave with Its Latest UltraBOOST "1988 Seoul" Release
Find out where this limited edition colorway will drop.
In celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Seoul Olympics, adidas has introduced a limited edition UltraBOOST release that is riddled with plenty of “Seoul” references. Taking on details and coloration from the South Korean capital’s flag, the latest rework is a perfect lead-up to the upcoming Winter Olympics slated to take place in the neighboring city of PyeongCheong. Although the sneaker takes on a largely all-white base for its Primeknit upper and color-matching BOOST midsole, the heel counter on the right foot is red, while the left one is blue. As for the plastic cage on the side panel, the hallmark Three Stripes branding is rendered in bold, black diagonals. Rounding off the look is a yin and yang logo in red and blue placed on the tongue tag.
An exclusive release of the adidas UltraBOOST “1988 Seoul” will launch on September 28, exclusively in South Korea. Although details are sparse regarding whether this model will see a global release, sneakerheads can expect quantities to be extremely limited. Stay tuned here as we find out more.
