Go Backstage at FILA's Spring/Summer 2019 Show

The sportswear brand debuts at Milan Fashion Week.

FILA‘s had quite the year, with the rising popularity of its ’90s sneakers like the Disruptor 2 and its collaboration with luxury brand Fendi and artist @hey_reilly. The sportswear brand reached new heights, however, with its first ever full runway presentation for Spring/Summer 2019, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week.

True to FILA’s heritage style, the mens and women’s collection had an obvious, retro and sporty appeal, which was injected with Italian glitz for the runway. Oversized T-shirts and jersey-style dresses were updated in an all-over sequinned finish, practical track sets were reimagined in sleek, lustrous fabrics and that iconic logo found it’s way onto sheer maxi skirts and hooded capes. Elsewhere, athletic-wear was given the contemporary touch through chic details like one-shoulder bodysuits and tops with a high-neck finish and cutout details at the elbow.

Outerwear was also a key feature, with everything from staple windbreakers to longline PVC jackets and button-up coats available and of course, accessories like bucket hats, belt bags, oversized pouches and branded holdalls were seen throughout. Take an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at FILA’s landmark show in the gallery above; you can shop pieces from the See Now Buy Now collection already over at saks.com and at select Saks Fifth Avenue locations.
