A post-breakup anthem we didn’t know we needed.
UPDATE (November 2, 2019): After sharing a preview earlier this week, Dua Lipa has unveiled the full version of her “Don’t Start Now” music video. Watch the visual for the dance-inducing track directed by Nabil above.
Dua Lipa’s latest single “Don’t Start Now” has finally arrived along with a trailer for the official music video.
After wiping out her Instagram account and sharing numerous teasers previewing her new track over the last week, the British singer dropped the upbeat post-breakup anthem on Thursday evening.
An addictive tune that you’ll find yourself listening to on repeat, “Don’t Start Now” is all about letting go of a past relationship and feeling stronger than ever. The lyrics depicts how one often feels when moving on:
“Did a full one-eighty, crazy
Thinking ’bout the way I was
Did the heartbreak change me, maybe
But look at where I ended up
I’m all good already
So moved on, it’s scary
I’m not where you left me at all, soIf you don’t wanna see me dancing with somebody
If you wanna believe that anything could stop meDon’t show up
Don’t come out
Don’t start caring about me now
Walk away, you know how
Don’t start caring about me now”
In a sneak peek of the forthcoming music video, we see the now blonde-haired artist heading to the club with a few of her girlfriends. Donning a yellow, strappy bustier, Dua later takes the stage as she sings and dances in front of a stylish crowd.
