Billie Eilish Does the Same Interview, 3 Years in a Row

Looking back at her career, personal growth and struggles.

In 2017, then up-and-coming artist Billie Eilish sat down with Vanity Fair to do a video interview, which was later done the following year in 2018. Now, the singer has once again done the same interview – for the third year in a row.

Going from 257k Instagram followers to 40.7 million in 2019, the singer looks back and reflects over her growth over the past two years. Eilish also speaks about her mental health, which she reveals was at an all-time low throughout last year when she struggled with fame and pressure, as well as the death of a close friend. In this year’s interview, the singer tells us that she’s in a very happy place now, and that her goal is to continue being happy for a long time. She also speaks about some memorable moments she experienced this year, opening the season for SNL and having her Coachella set watched by Justin and Hailey Bieber.

Throughout the video, Billie Eilish also reveals who the most famous person in her phone is, reading out names like Avril Lavigne and Drake. Take a look at the Vanity Fair interview in the video above, and see the singer reflect over her growth and career.
