Solange Knowles has debuted an extended director’s cut of performance art film When I Get Home, which was originally released to accompany her 2019 album of the same name.
The 41-minute-long visual, edited and directed by Solange herself, is set in the musician’s hometown of Houston and explores the oft-overlooked culture of Black cowboys. Contributions from acclaimed artists Autumn Knight and Robert Pruitt are also featured in the short film, described as “an exploration of origin, asking the question how much of ourselves do we bring with us versus leave behind in our evolution” in a statement by Solange’s reps.
