In November, Netflix officially announced the premiere date of thriller-drama series You Season 2 and unveiled Joe Goldberg’s new target Love Quinn, played by Victoria Pedretti. The first season of You followed the story of a homicidal stalker named Joe (played by Gossip Girls Penn Badgley) who’s infatuated with a girl named Guinivere Beck (played by Elizabeth Lail). Shay Mitchell was also part of the cast and played the role of Beck’s best friend, Peach Salinger.

Warning: This post contains spoilers.

For Season 2 of You, the storyline once again centers around Joe, who has moved to Los Angeles after killing Beck in the first season. This time around, Joe has his eyes set on a new girl named Love Quinn who is played by Pedretti, best known for her role in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House. Pedretti’s character Love is a grocery store manager who plans on becoming a chef one day. Interestingly enough, Love seems to have big goals in life just like Joe’s former girlfriends — Beck’s dream was to become a writer, while Candace is an aspiring musician.

While we patiently wait for You to return to Netflix on December 26, learn more about the 24-year-old actress that plays Joe’s new victim below.

1. She started acting as a teen in school performances.

According to W Magazine, Pedretti attended Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania where her passion for acting originated. After high school, she got into the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama where she began to take her acting studies seriously.

2. She plays the main role of Eleanor in Netflix’s horror series, The Haunting of Hill House.

Right after graduating from college, Pedretti instantly landed the role of Eleanor “Nell” Crain in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House that premiered back in 2018. The series has officially been renewed for a second season, and will return as The Haunting of Bly Manor.

3. She starred in Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

If you didn’t notice, Pedretti starred in Quentin Tarantino‘s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The actress played the role of a cult member named Lulu and had the opportunity to act alongside Hollywood icon, Brad Pitt.

4. She prepared for the role of Love Quinn by immersing herself in her character’s lifestyle.

According to Cosmopolitan, Pedretti moved to Silver Lake, Los Angeles all the way from Philadelphia in order to fully immerse in her character Love Quinn’s role. She told the publication, “I tried to think about what it would be like to grow up with a lot of money, with all the resources that a lot of these people have.”

5. She read Joan Didion in preparation for You.

In addition to living like a Los Angeles local, Pedretti prepared for her role by reading Joan Didion, who Love really admires and is referenced in the show. According to an interview with Variety, reading Didion allowed Pedretti to understand the gloomy perspective behind the American essayist’s works, and why her character loves her books so much.
