BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" Video Is the Fastest to Ever Hit 100 Million YouTube Views
The K-pop girlband keeps breaking records.
UPDATE: BLACKPINK have gone one step ahead and smashed yet another YouTube record, this time for being the fastest video to ever hit 100 million views. The K-pop band hit the milestone just 62 hours after the “Kill This Love” video was released, beating the previous title-holder which was Psy’s 2013 video for “Gentleman” which hit the landmark number in 2.8 days. At the time of publishing, the views had already hit over 120 million so we can expect the girlband will keep on making history with this track.
K-pop superstars BLACKPINK dropped their highly-anticipated album, Kill This Love, alongside a stunning music video for the titular track, directed by Hyun Seung Seo, earlier this week. The mesmerizing video which sees all four members, Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo dancing to the anthemic track against a post-apocalyptic backdrop has already broken a YouTube record. It amassed an incredible 50 million views on the video streaming platform in just 24 hours, making it the biggest debut of all-time for any group in YouTube’s history. At the time of publishing this article, the video had climbed to over 86 million views.
Next week, BLACKPINK will make history again as the first ever K-pop girlband to take the stage at California’s legendary Coachella festival. Shortly after, the band will embark on its North American tour before performing at London’s SSE Arena at Wembley in May.
