Skateboarder Alexis Sablone and Converse Release a New One Star Pro
Additional grip and durability.
Fresh off the back of Nike’s first all-girl skateboarding video, Converse has just revealed a collaboration with professional skateboarder Alexis Sablone on her first sneaker. As the newest addition to the Converse’s skate team, CONS, Alexis has been working with the brand to create her perfect One Star Pro. The silhouette was first introduced as a basketball shoe in the ’70s and was reissued as the One Star Pro in the ’90s as a skate shoe.
Alexis designed the shoe to fit the way she rides. She added additional rubber on the toe vamp to increase grip while skating as well as a double-stitched, reinforced eye row for further durability. Aesthetically, the sneaker is covered in white suede, features a yellow star and for an added personal touch, has a gold foil stamp of Alexis’ name.
The sneaker comes in unisex sizing and will release on Converse’s online store and select retailers on June 1 for $75 USD. Scroll through the gallery below to get a closer look at the shoe. For more from Alexis Sablone, check her out in Converse’s Pride 2019 collection campaign.
