This Custom Canon P Camera Is Reimagined in "Rosy Pink"

Admire the details of this one-of-a-kind design.

Film photography lovers, feast your eyes on this customized Canon P “Rosy Pink” design. A unique model by Taipei’s Shueido Camera, the rangefinder camera is specially reworked for a customer and features an eye-catching, bubblegum pink appearance.

“This camera called Canon P (P for Populaire) originally manufactured in 1959, so it has over 60 years of history,” the Taiwan store tells HYPEBAE. “Most of the old film cameras in the market are in poor conditions of mechanisms and appearance, and we are devoting to restore them and give this beautiful old spirit a brand new look.” By offering repainting and customization services, the shop hopes to give these old film cameras a second life — to actually be used for taking photos instead of simply sitting on a shelf.

“The Rosy Pink Canon P is a customized work for our client. She found out about our customized work for Oskar Smołokowski (of Polaroid) on Instagram and [would like] to have the pink version of it.” To achieve the light pink body, Shueido Camera mixed multiple special paint colors that are typically used for sports cars.

Take a closer look at the details of the camera above. Make sure to also check out Shueido Camera’s Instagram for more of its work.
