Melting Sadness Teams Up With adidas Originals for a Superstar and Pro Model Collaboration
Featuring four eye-catching designs.
For its latest collaboration, adidas Originals has teamed up with Chinese artist Zhang Quan and his brand Melting Sadness for fun takes on the label’s Superstar and Pro Model silhouettes.
Inspired by animals, the collaboration sees three takes on the classic Superstar. One arrives in a tonal beige upper with hints of pastel yellow and orange throughout, complete with a melting rubber detail atop the lacing. The second sees an all-yellow design with black Three Stripes on the lateral, finished off with an embroidered bee at the back and a small flower on the laces. Lastly, the final Superstar design arrives in a dark green with yellow rubber-like straps stretching across the upper, finished off with a small duck embroidery at back.
As for the Pro Model silhouette, the high-top shoe takes inspiration from a giraffe, arriving in a muted brown color with eyes and ears attached to the laces.
Take a look at the collaboration in the gallery above. As of now, the Melting Sadness x adidas Originals collaboration is now available in China through the adidas app, as well as in Japan. The shoes retail at $160 and $180 USD respectively, with no global release information yet confirmed.
