Nike ACG Reveals Eco-Friendly Apparel and Footwear for Holiday 2020
Featuring functional outerwear and GORE-TEX-equipped sneakers.
Prepping for the cold winter season, Nike ACG has now unveiled its Holiday 2020 collection featuring functional apparel and footwear options. The capsule – a continuation of the sportswear giant’s journey to achieving zero-carbon and zero-waste – arrives with both sustainable and durable designs.
“Sustainability was our first filter for materials used in this collection, but we didn’t compromise the identity of ACG style and attitude; wearers can continue to be protected from the elements when exploring awe-inspiring nature, or even wear the apparel beyond a weekend in the outdoors,” Nike ACG’s Design Director Nur Abbas shares in a press release. With 85 percent of the range crafted using 90 percent recycled materials, the apparel items are a celebration of outdoor surroundings and being environmentally-conscious.
Influenced by Smith Rock, a volcanic structure in central Oregon, the lineup kicks off with the Misery Ridge GORE-TEX Jacket that is waterproof, windproof and breathable with three-layer fabric technology. The collection further features the Rope De Dope Jacket, a packable puffer piece, and the Polartec Wolf Tree Hoodie, which uses 100 percent recycled materials. A vest, tee and pants round off the range.
In footwear, the Nike ACG Mountain Fly GORE-TEX is a boot-like silhouette that arrives with a technical upper. The shoe is highlighted with a waffle-patterned outsole that delivers multi-directional traction. Meanwhile, the Air Nasu GORE-TEX is a black low-top sneaker designed to be worn in any weather condition.
Nike ACG’s Holiday 2020 apparel and footwear collection is set to drop on November 12 via the brand’s online store and select offline locations.
