Pyer Moss' "Exist to Resist" Platform Joins Forces With The Marsha P. Johnson Institute

Honoring the International Transgender Day of Remembrance.

Back in September, Pyer Moss introduced “Exist to Resist,” a platform that spotlights the work of social justice organizations. For its latest installment, the Kerby Jean-Raymond-helmed brand has partnered up with The Marsha P. Johnson Institute in honor of International Transgender Day of Remembrance. Jean-Raymond commented on the collaboration in a press release and said:

“A part of our role as creatives in this world is to observe and listen to those who are identifying and challenging the ills that plague our present and our future. The Marsha P. Johnson Institute stood out to us as an organization that is protecting and defending the basic human rights of Black transgender people and we see it as our job to support them and amplify their voices rather than speak for them.”

The two platforms have crafted a graphic tee embroidered with Pyer Moss’ label and “exist to resist” on the front, along with “The Marsha P. Johnson Institute” embellished on the left sleeve. The rear of the garment depicts an image of Johnson printed with the word “Legendary” and the phrase “THE CATEGORY IS ALIVE” – a nod to the late American gay liberation activist’s invaluable work for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Marsha P. Johnson Institute x “Exist to Resist” tee retails for $100 USD and will be available exclusively on Pyer Moss’ website on November 21 – all proceeds will be donated to the non-profit human rights organization.
