Phoebe Bridgers' "Savior Complex" Music Video Stars Paul Mescal and a Puppy

Phoebe Bridgers, the indie singer-songwriter who will make her Grammys debut in January with a whopping four nominations, has released a music video for “Savior Complex,” a melancholy tune that recounts a tale of two troubled lovers.
Directed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (yes, the two similarly named stars have finally linked up), the visual stars Paul Mescal of Normal People fame alongside a heartbreakingly adorable puppy. (The casting choice is an interesting one, as Bridgers is rumored to be dating Mescal.) Shot in black and white, the video follows a beaten-up Mescal as he attempts to shake off an enthusiastic chihuahua who approaches him on the beach. Mescal even steals a car to escape the dog, only to find the pup is sitting in the driver’s seat.
