UPDATE: Take a Look Inside Moncler's Custom Tour Bus For Rick Owens and Michèle Lamy
Teasing the upcoming Rick Owens x Moncler collaboration.
UPDATE (February 20, 2020): Earlier this week, Rick Owens and Moncler took an unorthodox approach to announcing their upcoming collaboration. The two brands released a series of campaign images, taken during a road trip Owens and Michèle Lamy made across Nevada. The pair traveled in a custom tour bus outfitted in all-grey furnishings and upholstered with army blankets.
After unveiling Owens’ custom bus at Milan Fashion Week, Moncler has released additional imagery of the vehicle’s interior. Owens and Lamy lounge while watching TV, and a garment rack reveals an impressive lineup of puffers from the collection. Even the bathroom, boasting an all-silver steel interior, is rendered in Owens’ signature aesthetic.
The Rick Owens x Moncler collection will release later this year, with an exact date to be announced. Check out the newly released campaign images above, and the rest of the shots below.
ORIGINAL STORY (February 18, 2020): Rick Owens and Moncler have announced an upcoming collaboration with a series of campaign images featuring the collection, worn by Owens and Michèle Lamy as they travel throughout Nevada. The iconic duo stop at Area 51 as they make the trip to their final destination, artist Michael Heizer’s work Double Negative.
“Moncler approached me about a collab and I took advantage of the moment to ask them to do something different — to customize a tour bus for [Michèle] and I to make a road trip from LAX to Michael Heizer’s ranch in Nevada,” Owens writes in a statement on the collaboration. The resulting images depict Owens and Lamy clad in rope-wrapped snow boots and a gargantuan silver puffer posing in front of midwestern landscapes including a gas station and billboard advertising an Area 51-themed roadside store.
The Rick Owens x Moncler collection will debut at Milan Fashion Week on February 19 alongside Owens’ customized tour bus.
