Apple's New MacBook Air Arrives in a Gold Finish
The iPad Pro has also received an update.
After accidentally launching four new iPad Pro models on its Chinese website, Apple has officially confirmed a new iPad Pro and MacBook Air. Both have been updated with increased storage, speed and keyboards.
The MacBook Air replaces the old Butterfly keyboard, originally introduced in 2015 to numerous user complaints, with the new Magic keyboard that re-implements Apple’s scissor switch keys of yesteryear. The laptop boasts twice the storage of previous models at 256GB, resulting in improved graphics performance and speed. Constructed of 100 percent recycled aluminum, the new MacBook Air arrives in gold, silver and “Space Grey” finishes.
The iPad Pro has been released in tandem with an accompanying iPad-specific Magic keyboard, which includes a built-in trackpad, priced at $299 USD. Other capabilities include studio-quality microphones, an Ultra Wide camera, depth-sensing scanner and A12Z Bionic chip, making it faster than most PCs.
The new MacBook Pro and iPad Pro are available now on Apple’s website and retail for $999 and $799 USD respectively.
