Converse Introduces New CX Technology: The Latest Innovation Adding Comfort and Style
Showcased on three new footwear designs.
Converse has been at the forefront of innovation in footwear, having announced its eco-conscious Renew Initiative last summer. This time around, the label is introducing CX, a new material toolkit that allows its shoes to be constructed with added comfort and style.
CX is built upon three core elements: the CX stretch canvas, CX foam and a new outsole design. The CX stretch canvas is a type of material that adapts to the wearer’s foot, adding wearability to Converse’s shoes, while the CX foam maximizes comfort by boosting impact absorption. A new outsole design supports the CX foam with extra flexibility and durability.
The new CX toolkit is found in three new designs put forth by Converse. The All Star Disrupt CX, a modern take on the Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette, arrives in black and khaki colorways and is highlighted with a midsole exaggerated at the heel. The Chuck Taylor Disrupt CX is a low-cut slip-on shoe, while the Chuck Taylor All Star CX is a classic silhouette upgraded with transparent detailing at the midsole.
The three new kicks are slated to arrive on March 19 at Converse’s online store and select retailers globally, along with an additional collaborative iteration with TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. on March 12. The All Star Disrupt CX will retail for $120 USD, the Chuck Taylor Disrupt CX for $90 USD, and Chuck Taylor All Star CX for $75 USD.
