Get a Backstage Look at sacai's FW20 Show at Paris Fashion Week
Chitose Abe brings her signature aesthetic to a Parisian warehouse.
Paris Fashion Week has just come to an end, and we’ve seen all the best shows and all the most eye-catching street style looks. On Monday, Chitose Abe showed her Fall/Winter 2020 collection for her label sacai at what looked like a construction site, bringing the fashion crowd through a rustic staircase before inviting them to sit in a dark, smoky space before revealing her collection.
This season, Abe brought drama to the catwalk. The designer married her eclectic use of layering and mixing and matching with modern silhouettes, debuting deconstructed suits and bulky knits, combining her unique aesthetic with the biggest trends of the moment. As for accessories, the models sported gold chain earrings and silver ear pieces, and we also saw the same chains being used as belts, necklaces as well as features on this season’s shoe collection. Abe’s attention to detail is unmatched, and for FW20, we saw logo prints, galaxy-inspired graphics, textured suits as well as bold outerwear – all coming together to create a collection that truly breathed “sacai.” Chitose Abe always manages to apply the sacai DNA to anything she touches, whether it is a sneaker collaboration with Nike or an apparel collaboration with tattoo artist Dr. Woo, and each season, the collections keep getting stronger and stronger.
