Troye Sivan, Kim Petras and More Confirmed for Stonewall Livestream Concert
Proceeds go to LGBTQ+ nightlife industry workers.
Legendary gay bar Stonewall Inn has announced that its charity, The Stonewall Gives Back Initiative, will host a livestreamed concert to benefit those in the LGBTQ+ nightlife industry who are impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
Presented in conjunction with RuPaul’s Drag Race production company World of Wonder, the concert will feature performances by Troye Sivan, Kim Petras and none other than Cyndi Lauper. The virtual extravaganza will be hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and famed YouTuber Tyler Oakley. All proceeds from the concert will go to an emergency assistance fund for LGBTQ nightlife workers. The fund will be distributed as $1,000 USD micro-grants to impacted industry employees who apply for assistance.
“LGBTQ bars and nightlife have been decimated due to the mass closures during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Stacy Lentz, CEO of The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative, said. “These are the original safe spaces for our community…We need this moment to come together as one and help those who keep the LBGTQ nightlife industry thriving.”
“Stonewall Gives Back! A Live-Streaming Concert for the LGBTQ+ Nightlife Community” airs on the World of Wonder YouTube channel on April 23 at 8 p.m. EST. Donations can be made at the Stonewall Gives Back Initiative website.
