Nike Launches Rainbow Air Force 1 For Pride Month
Part of the “BeTrue” collection.
Nike is celebrating Pride Month with the launch of the “BeTrue” collection, a range of three footwear styles adorned with emblems of the LGBTQIA+ community. The release will be accompanied by 20 grants totaling $500,000 USD to organizations championing equality.
Inspired by New York City‘s ballroom culture in the ’80s, the Air Force 1 “BeTrue” interprets the tradition as iridescent detailing (including a holographic Swoosh), a rainbow flag on the midsole and rainbow-stitched heel mark. The Air Max 2090 “BeTrue” mixes panels of violet, green and burgundy, representing the rainbow in a fresh way. Lastly, the Air Deschutz “BeTrue” is a black sandal featuring hidden colors on the interior of criss-cross straps.
Nike’s “BeTrue” collection releases in China on June 5 and globally June 19 on the Nike website.
