Actor Chadwick Boseman Passes Away at Age 43
Following a four-year battle with colon cancer.
Actor Chadwick Boseman has tragically passed away this Friday, following a four-year battle against colon cancer. Best known for his role as King T’Challa in Marvel‘s Black Panther, Boseman made history as the first Black superhero, and has become an icon for people all over the world.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” reads a statement from his family. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more — all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther,” the statement from Boseman’s family reads, adding that he passed away at his home in Los Angeles next to his wife and family.
Our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman and his family. Rest in power and peace, Chadwick.
