Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals Join Forces for Vegan Superstars

Every aspect of the SUPEREARTH shoe is free of animal ingredients.

Continuing its sustainability initiative previously seen on all-white Superstar and Stan Smith sneakers, adidas Originals has now tapped Sean Wotherspoon for a pair of 100-percent vegan kicks. The collaboration, dubbed SUPEREARTH, is one of few silhouettes from the sportswear giant that is free from animal ingredients.

“People know that I’m vegan, and it’s a foundation of who I am. It’s a cornerstone of all my projects, and part of sustainable living. adidas loved it and we started to look at all the ways we can bring vegan materials to the Superstar,” Wotherspoon shared in a press release. Created as an effort to end plastic waste, the SUPEREARTH is entirely free of animal-derived materials. Additionally, the manufacturing process minimizes waste through pattern efficiency and the use of recycled rubber.

The sneakers boast drawings of flowers and the Trefoil logo throughout the upper with embroidered threads hanging along the side. Hints of sky blue is seen around the lacing atop the white base, while “SUPEREARTH” branding is placed on the tongue. Rounding off the design, the midsole and toe cage arrive with a speckled pattern throughout.

Take a closer look at Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals’ SUPEREARTH Superstars below. The shoes will be arriving at adidas’ web store on August 29.
