Pronto! Is the New App Connecting Volunteers With Black Lives Matter Organizations
A must-have tool for activists.
With the launch of new app Pronto!, it’s never been easier to contribute to the Black Lives Matter movement. Created by 21-year-old artist and activist Paul Hill, Pronto! serves as a directory and educational hub connecting donors and volunteers with organizations across the U.S. fighting systemic racism.
The app, available for iPhone, includes city-specific directories of trusted organizations and non-profits — all vetted by a board of BIPOC activists — including the Black Trans Travel Fund, Warriors In The Garden and Brave Space Alliance. A brief description of each initiative is accompanied by buttons to donate, call and visit the organization’s website. The app also features easy-access links to CreatureFriend.org, a nationwide service locating arrested protestors, and resources such as the Fantasy World Guide to Dismantling Systemic Racism by @patiasfantasyworld.
“Pronto! is my way of keeping up with the times,” Hill explained. “With an estimated engagement of 26 million people, the Black Lives Matter movement is the largest movement in history. Yet there hasn’t been an easy and concise tool to get involved until now,” he said. Going forward, the creator and founder plans to add more organizations to the app, as well as launch live maps of protests across the U.S. Also in the pipeline are directories of Black-owned businesses and educational resources for voters.
