UGG Unveils Collection of Wearable Art in Collaboration With Claire Tabouret
“This challenged me to create something that could live outside of my studio or a gallery.”
UGG has teamed up with Los Angeles-based artist Claire Tabouret on its latest Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Having first worked with Tabouret on its Spring/Summer 2020 campaign, the artist is back with a new range of innovative pieces.
Inspired by her signature portraits – Sitting and The Soldier – Tabouret and the Southern California-based brand’s line includes three footwear styles, a jacket and a bag that reflect the artist’s figurative compositions. Tabouret explained what it was like working with UGG once again and said:
“Collaborating with UGG was a great experience for me in finding new possibilities within new constraints. In my own practice I am limited to the size of the canvas and what I can physically do with my body, but working closely with UGG I was able to gain insight into their process and work within a different set of rules. This challenged me to create something that could live outside of my studio or a gallery, that could be experienced in the public space.”
The over-the-knee OTK Boot and cuffed Fluff Boot are made of sheepskin-lined shafts. Additionally, the footwear styles boast an elegant wedge heel and durable rubber outsole, along with art prints that arrive in a bold color palette. As for the label’s iconic Coquette slipper, the piece comes with ultra-soft sheepskin and an indoor-outdoor sole, just like the original.
Rounding out the range is the full-zip jacket and oversized tote bag, which are constructed out of luxe premium shearling and feature Tabouret’s signature design. Take a closer look in the gallery above.
The UGG x Claire Tabouret FW20 collection ranges from $200 to $1,495 USD, which is now available online and at UGG retail locations.
