Apple May Be Releasing iPhone Cases With Built-In AirPods Chargers
Say goodbye to the original charging case.
While Apple is in talks with Hyundai to possibly develop an electric car, the tech giant has recently won a patent for potential iPhone case designs that feature built-in AirPods chargers. Some examples include “a wallet pocket while other[s] illustrate a backside display,” Patently Apple reports.
As depicted in the mock-ups above, the upcoming phone covers come in different forms. One of the highlights is a folding-style design that displays information such as the time. According to the illustration, the AirPods buds seem to be stored outside of their original cases and are inserted into two fitted holes for charging. Other styles feature the built-in technology on the inside of the folding case. One cover comes with near-field communication (NFC) on the rear of the phone, along with slots for the wireless buds and a card pocket.
