Here's Everything We Know About Part 2 of Netflix's 'Lupin' (Spoiler)
The cast, storyline, expected release date and more.
Alongside titles like Sweet Home and Alice in Borderland, Lupin has become one of the latest buzzy, non-English television series taking over Netflix. With only five episodes released so far, many viewers would probably have already binge-watched the first installment of the heist show. For those curious, we’ve gathered everything we know about Lupin Part 2, from its release date to the storyline.
Upon its premiere in early January, the French series overtook The Queen’s Gambit and Bridgerton in popularity, as it was projected to be streamed in 70 million households in its first 28 days. The show follows the story of Assane Diop (Omar Sy), a clever thief that is seeking to avenge his father (Fargass Assandé), who died years ago after being wrongfully accused of stealing a necklace. The series begins with Diop as a janitor at the Louvre Museum, who later devises a plan that allows him to get his hands on the jewelry piece once owned by Marie Antoinette.

Warning: This post contains minor spoilers.
Five episodes of Lupin Part 2 have already been filmed.
Those who have already watched Lupin will notice that there are only five episodes released in Part 1. Part 2, which completes the first official season, has been written and filmed already. Just like their predecessors, each of the new episodes will most likely be just under an hour long.
The show’s main cast will return.
As anticipated, the show’s main cast will return to the series. Omar Sy, Ludivine Sagnier and Etan Simon will continue to play Assane, Claire and Raoul of the Diop family. Meanwhile, Hervé Pierre will appear as the wealthy and powerful Pellegrini who framed Assane’s father. Clotilde Hesme is set to reprise her role as Juliette Pellegrini, and Antoine Gouy, Shirine Boutella and Soufiane Guerrab will play the investigators attempting to catch Assane.
Here’s what we think will happen in Part 2.
Not much has been revealed as to what will happen in the second part of Lupin. However, given that the fifth episode ended with a major cliffhanger, we can expect Assane and Claire to try and find their son Raoul. This means that there’s a good chance Claire will learn more about and become involved in Assane’s plot to clear his father’s name.
In a conversation with Variety, Lupin‘s creators reveal that the show will go on beyond the first season. George Kay commented that the first 10 episodes are “the origin of how Assane came to be here, so it’s the first chapter of a bigger show,” so there’s a lot more to expect in the coming years.
The second installment is scheduled to premiere this summer.
As teased in the final credits at the end of the fifth episode, Netflix is promising viewers that the next release will be “coming soon.” The streaming platform has announced that Part 2 of Lupin will land sometime this summer.
