Apple Is Reportedly Developing a Fully Self-Driving Car

If everything goes according to plan, the vehicle might debut in 2025.

Rumor has it that Apple is looking to unveil its first electric car in 2025. According to unknown sources via Bloomberg, the vehicle will feature “full self-driving [abilities] that [don’t] require human intervention.”

The project’s lead, Apple Watch software executive Kevin Lynch, shared that the timeline is “fluid” and meeting its 2025 target will depend on whether the company will be able to complete the self-driving system in time or not. If a delay occurs, Apple will either postpone the release date or settle for a model with less technology.

At the moment, the tech giant has reportedly completed most of the “core work” of the car’s processor. In addition, sources state that the model will not come with a steering wheel or pedals. As part of its safety measures, Apple is looking into implementing an emergency takeover mode.

Stay tuned while we wait for Apple to confirm the rumors.
