Marvel Releases First Teaser for 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'

The sorcerer teams up with Wanda Maximoff, AKA the Scarlet Witch.

Just when you thought the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn’t get any bigger, an official teaser for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives.

Fresh from helping save the universe from Thanos, the former Sorcerer Supreme (Benedict Cumberbatch) finds himself protecting the universe once again.

The trailer for the new Marvel movie opens with dialogue from Spiderman: No Way Home. Doctor Strange says, “the multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little,” warning viewers about the vast unknown.

Dealing with the repercussions of tampering with space and time, the forthcoming MCU installment follows Stephen Strange as he falls into a parallel universe. In his quest to save the multiverse, he seeks out the help of former Avenger Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), who recently escaped the alternate realities of WandaVision. After trapping the unwitting residents of Westview, New Jersey as a means to grief the traumatic death of Vision, the Scarlet Witch is on a mission for penance.

In an exciting twist, the jam-packed sneak peek of the upcoming action film features a glimpse of Strange Supreme, an alternate version of Dr. Strange from the animated Marvel spin-off What If?, who is seemingly the biggest threat to the universe.

Ex-Mean Girl Rachel McAdams reprises her role as Christine Palmer, while Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Baron Mordo and Xochitl Gomez stars as America Chavez.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to hit theaters in May 2022. Watch the first official teaser above.
