Charlotte Knowles Debuts Daring SS21 Campaign

Emerging British label Charlotte Knowles, a favorite among style stars including Bella Hadid and Hunter Schafer, has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2021 campaign. Shot by fellow Brit Harley Weir, the campaign captures designer duo Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s slinky, feminine designs that merge romantic and gothic influences.
Knowles and Arsenault’s spring offerings, such as ruffled jersey dresses and sheer, scallop-edged tops, are set against backgrounds distorted with scratches and light leaks. According to a press release, the creative choice is meant to “echo the potential for rebirth and change that Knowles and Arsenault believe this moment holds,” referencing the uncertainty of the pandemic. “We were wondering: what will come out of this moment as important?” they shared in a statement on the SS21 collection. “When everything is so uncertain, we wanted to make something really creative, positive and up-lifting. This collection came out of trying to feel something good.”
