Emporio Armani Takes to the Waters for Latest Sustainable Line

Exploring the intersection between body, nature and water.

For Spring/Summer 2021, Emporio Armani continues its commitment to conscious fashion practices with its latest sustainable collection. Channeling the noble spirit of modern sailors, HYPEBAE’s accompanying campaign visuals explore the relationship between body, nature and water depicting its free-flowing aesthetic.

Merging advanced textile research with practical design, the brand finds common ground between sustainability and functionality. This season’s strictly blue and white color palette, contrasting stitching and offset silhouettes embrace the marine-inspired aesthetic. Featuring an array of lightweight garments for both men and women, the offering includes a selection of light dusters, mini tops, oversized sweatshirts, cargo pants and Bermuda shorts.

Constructed from GREENLON and NEWLIFE, these technical fabrics are made in Italy using nylon and post-consumer polyester derived from plastic bottles. Conveying a passion for the sea, the crinkled nylon repurposes recycled plastic waste including fishing nets and lint from synthetic carpets whilst the organic cotton employs no GMO and grown without pesticides. Rounding off the environmentally responsible collection is its low-impact watch and sunglasses accessories, and pre-consumer cotton shopper. Underlining the mission, the collection arrives in compostable packaging encouraging the continuation of the sustainable cycle.

You can view stand-out pieces from the latest capsule collection in the gallery above. Alternatively, you can visit the Armani website to purchase and find out more information about its sustainability practices.
