Nike Debuts Extensive WNBA Uniform and Apparel Collection

Reworked styles that cater to women of all shapes and sizes.

Nike has unveiled a diverse lineup of women’s basketball uniforms and other apparel pieces in anticipation of the WNBA‘s 25th season. The collection features improved silhouettes based on female athletes’ insights, three new editions of the game uniform and more that honor all 12 teams in the league.

The new uniforms – WNBA Nike Heroine Edition, WNBA Nike Explorer Edition and WNBA Nike Rebel Edition – celebrate the stories from each team’s cities and communities through the point of view of “female archetypes in storytelling and film.” Prior to conceptualizing the collection, Nike met with the Chicago Sky, Indiana Fever and Seattle Storm teams to further explore what needs to be improved with the brand’s products.

“We heard from players that they needed a better-fitting uniform — by height alone, bodies range from 5’6” to 6’9” and one size doesn’t fit all,” the Swoosh label shared in a press release. “As a solution, Nike fully re-engineered a new uniform chassis for more body types, updating proportions across the game jersey and short now featuring three neckline varieties, new waistband, and material innovation that debuts Dri-FIT ADV for maximum breathability.”

The WNBA Nike Rebel Edition Uniforms are now available online to Nike Members and via the Nike App. The WNBA Nike Explorer Edition and the WNBA Team 13 collection will receive a later release date of April 14.
