Pyer Moss Is Joining Couture Week in Paris
The NYC-based label will show its first haute couture collection this summer.
Officials have given couture week in Paris the go-ahead for physical shows and presentations, news that was announced alongside a second exciting development: Pyer Moss, the New York-based label helmed by Kerby Jean-Raymond, has been invited to participate as a guest on the Fall/Winter 2021 couture schedule.
Jean-Raymond, who recently dressed Vice President Kamala Harris, will be the first Black American designer to feature on the couture calendar. Though Pyer Moss confirmed it will show its very first haute couture collection during the event, the brand has not released any additional details regarding its plans. In addition to Pyer Moss, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode announced that a group of labels including Balenciaga, Zuhair Murad and RVDK Ronald van der Kemp will also present as guests.
Couture mainstays including Chanel, Christian Dior and Jean Paul Gaultier are also confirmed to show. So far, Chanel is the only house that plans to host an event with guests, this year opting for the Palais Galliera as its venue of choice.
Paris Haute Couture Week will take place from July 5 to 8. The Fédération will announce a schedule during the week of June 7.
