sacai Reveals Its Own Take On Post-Pandemic Fashion in FW21 Collection
Chitose Abe returns with more statement hybrid silhouettes.
Following up on its Pre-Fall 2021 collection with KAWS, sacai is back with another range for Fall/Winter 2021. Known for her signature hybrid aesthetic, Chitose Abe has delivered a refreshing take on proportion, stretching and elongating to form new long, narrow silhouettes for women.
Inspired by Tokyo, where Abe has been living this past year, and what fashion could look like after the pandemic, the Japanese designer has created a series of garments dressed in hues of red, beige, blue and black. Standouts include the pieces with feminine “shrunken” shoulders in contrast with the oversized sleeves, as well as the long flowy skirts. Elsewhere, the dresses boast “shrunken” knits, while outerwear styles are crafted from an array of material including shearling for the colder months ahead.
