BTS Continues To Break Streaming Records With "Butter"

The group’s latest release surpasses “Dynamite.”

A testament to the K-pop group’s global influence, BTS‘ latest single, “Butter,” has broken multiple streaming records. On Sunday, a Spotify representative confirmed that the sizzling track amassed more than 20.9 million global streams, setting the music platform’s record for single-day streams.

Earlier last week, the song’s official music video also broke records on YouTube, attracting over 3.89 million simultaneous viewers at the time of its premiere. In just one hour, the video boasted over 21 million views, a staggering figure that surpasses numbers for the group’s previous record-setting single, “Dynamite.”

The catchy tune begins as Jungkook croons, “Smooth like butter/Like a criminal undercover.” The summer anthem continues with verses from each BTS member, who all perform synchronized choreography in the single’s accompanying music video.
