LEGO x adidas Originals Celebrate The Superstar Silhouette
The iconic sneaker comes in both real-life shoe and collectible model form.
LEGO and adidas Originals have teamed up once again for a partnership focused on the Superstar kicks. The classic silhouette arrives in both sneaker form and a brick model set.
The real-life shoe dons a simple black-and-white design with LEGO’s signature blocks adding contrasting textures. The Three Stripes, shell toe and heel tab come in brick form, while the rest of the upper is constructed with white leather.
Meanwhile, the Superstar 10282 collectible model reimagines the silhouette in rectangular blocks, featuring all of the iconic details such as the shell toe, Trefoil branding, Three Stripes on the sides and more. The set comes with 17 extra LEGO pieces that allow you to build either the left or right shoe, as well as shoelaces and a shoebox.
“As a kid of the ’80s and growing up in the ’90s, the Superstar sneaker with its rich street art culture was such an iconic item, and that’s also when I got my first pair,” LEGO’s Senior Designer Florian Müller shares in a press release. “I was super excited to work on this model. As shoes represent very organic objects, made from flexible material that also look different on every person, it was a fun challenge to translate this into the LEGO System in Play, which by nature is square and blocky.”
Take an up-close look above. Arriving in adult and junior sizing, the Superstar LEGO sneaker will launch on July 1 online. The 10282 model will drop the same day via LEGO’s stores.
