BTS x McDonald's Cups, Bags and Sauces Are Selling for Hundreds of Dollars

Packaging from the buzzy collab has made its way onto resale sites including eBay.

Taking the resale business to new extremes, eBay entrepreneurs are now peddling used packaging from the BTS x McDonald’s meal in the hopes of profiting from the K-pop group’s dedicated fanbase.

Cartons, cups and bags from the BTS-themed meal — which consists of 10 McNuggets, medium fries and a Coca Cola — are being sold on the auction site for hundreds of dollars. A set of two unopened dipping sauces and an empty chicken nugget box, printed with purple BTS branding, is listed for $500 AUD (approximately $384 USD), while a paper receipt commemorating one customer’s purchase of the co-signed meal is being sold for $500 USD. Another lot, aptly titled “greasy BTS Meal Bag McDonald’s 2021,” (listed as “pre-owned”), is going for $100 USD.

While we’re not exactly rushing to shell out hundreds on used fast food packaging, the old adage does ring true: one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
