Netflix's 'Shadow and Bone' Gets Renewed for Season 2

Jessie Mei Li, Ben Barnes, Archie Renaux and more are set to reprise their roles.

Netflix‘s Shadow and Bone will officially return to the streaming platform for the second season. Based on Leigh Bardugo‘s bestselling Grisha novel trilogy, the upcoming season will be comprised of eight one-hour episodes.

The announcement follows the success of Season 1, which was watched by more than 55 million subscribers in the first 28 days, as per Netflix. According to the company’s viewing statistics, the series also placed eighth on the most-watched English TV shows of all time.

Season 2 will feature returning cast members such as Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik) and Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar). Other actors set to join the show will be revealed soon.
