Vans Gives the Old Skool Decon a Sustainable Makeover
Introducing the new “Eco Theory” collection.
Vans has reimagined one of its classic silhouettes, the Old Skool Decon. Taking a more sustainable approach, the brand has crafted four iterations out of responsibly sourced materials.
The upper is made out of 100 percent organically grown cotton, while the outsole is equipped with natural rubber instead of the usual petroleum-derived rubber. Elsewhere, the lacing system features natural jute fiber. Rounding out the footwear style is the footbed finished with a natural cork top sheet. All colorways boast water-based inks and dyes, which are available in “White/Natural,” “Winter Sky/Natural,” Checkerboard “Cornstalk/Natural” and Checkerboard “Peachy Keen/Natural.”
