An On-Foot Look at PEACEMINUSONE x Nike's Kwondo 1 Shoe

A modern take on the wingtip, a classic men’s silhouette.

UPDATE (September 9, 2021): Following the limited images of PEACEMINUSONE x Nike‘s Kwondo 1, creative consultant KB, otherwise known as @fakesickness on Instagram, has given a closer and clearer look at the upcoming silhouette.

The upper is crafted from “Triple White” leather material and boasts decorative perforations on the overlays. Co-branding can be found on the tongue tabs and lace tips, while the front of the lace shrouds are marked with “PEACEMINUSONE” and the label’s signature motif. Previously revealed by G-Dragon, the heels and soles come with daisy motifs.

PEACEMINUSONE x Nike’s Kwondo 1 is reportedly priced at $180 USD, which might drop on January 19, 2022.

UPDATE (September 4, 2021): Last week, G-Dragon shared a first look at PEACEMINUSONE’s upcoming collaborative wingtip shoe with Nike. Now, the duo’s silhouette has received an official name: Kwondo 1.

Following the K-pop artist’s teaser photos, a clearer image of the pair has recently been revealed by Instagram user @kiiiondo. The shoe features a low-cut design and is crafted from smooth white leather material. Elsewhere, the toe boxes sport wingtip details, while the side panels boast tonal Swooshes for a sleek look. Other standout elements include the lace shrouds on top of the lacing system — one comes with PEACEMINUSONE branding and the other features Nike’s logo.

PEACEMINUSONE x Nike’s Kwondo 1 will reportedly drop in January 2022 for $180 USD. However, both brands have yet to confirm the release details.

ORIGINAL STORY (September 1, 2021): G-Dragon’s PEACEMINUSONE is continuing its relationship with Nike with another collaborative silhouette. Taking a break from the Air Force 1, the duo has decided to craft their own modern take on the wingtip, a classic dress shoe for men.

Teased via Instagram, the first post showcases two distorted images of the shoe. Two Swooshes can be found on the silhouette — one on the lateral and one near the toe. Elsewhere, the lace covers boast PEACEMINUSONE branding in silver, while the heel of the sole comes with five divots in the form of the K-pop artist’s signature daisy logo. The second post features the heel, which is embroidered with the colored version of the daisy motif.

PEACEMINUSONE x Nike’s wingtip shoe has yet to receive an official name, along with a release date and price point. Stay tuned while we wait for more information to surface.
