While Julia Fox and Kanye West are playing dress up in Balenciaga, Kim Kardashian has left the skin-tight aesthetic behind for a more relaxed ’90s vibe.
Joining the pop-punk trend, the reality TV star and beauty mogul paired low-rise baggy jeans with a black plunging scuba bodysuit made by British designer Maximilian Davis. Kardashian’s demin of choice featured rips on the knee and thigh, referencing the early-aughts grunge aesthetic. While the SKIMS founder posted the sultry images to Instagram this Monday, Kardashian actually wore the all-black outfit, leaving a boat in the Bahamas with her new beau Pete Davidson. Interestingly enough, the pair left for the Caribbean the day after her ex-husband’s infamous date with the Uncut Gems actor.
Alleged publicity stunts aside, Kardashian has effectively confirmed the controversial return of low-rise jeans. With the resurgence of late ’90s and Y2K trends, the low-rise look was bound to make a comeback.
