Sam Smith Announces Upcoming Album 'Gloria': Here's Everything You Need To Know

Sam Smith has taken to social media to announce their upcoming studio album, Gloria, out early next year.
“Dearest sailors, I am overjoyed to announce that my fourth album is called ‘GLORIA,’” they captioned an Instagram photo of the album cover. “It will be yours on the 27th January 2023, and you can pre-order now.”
Smith went on to explain what the highly anticipated LP means to them. “I’m feeling overwhelmed and emotional as I start to let go of Gloria and hand this work over to you,” they added. “It has been magical in every way to make this piece of music and by giving this record to you I am giving you part of my heart and soul. Gloria got me through some dark times and was a beacon for me in my life. I hope it can be that for you. Thank you for waiting so long. Only a few months now. Sam x.”
For Smith, Gloria served as a sort of awakening. “It feels like emotional, sexual and spiritual liberation,” they say. “It was beautiful, with this album, to sing freely again. Oddly, it feels like my first-ever record. And it feels like a coming of age.”
Gloria consists of 20 tracks, with “Unholy,” which Smith recently dropped along with Kim Petras, and “Love Me More” serving as the lead singles.
