Ferragamo Enters a New Era With Maximilian Davis Leading the Way

Unveiling The World of Ferragamo an immersive, virtual space.

At only 27 years old, Maximilian Davis, Ferragamo’s newly-appointed creative director, has emerged as a formidable presence in the industry, previewing his inaugural collection for the famed fashion house for Spring/Summer 2023. Paying homage to the luxury brand’s rich history and distinct design codes, the esteemed design talent — who is the first Black creative director to be appointed for the brand — has leveraged his ability for creating elegant garments with a refined sensuality while maintaining the craftsmanship, creativity and sophistication Ferragamo is synonymous with.

Reflecting on the Trinidadian-British designer’s first Milan fashion show for the luxury heritage brand, he seeks to cultivate a collection defined by effortless elegance and undone glamour while drawing parallels to the iconic luxury brand’s roots. “I wanted to pay tribute to Salvatore’s start by bringing in the culture of Hollywood, but new Hollywood,” the creative shared. “Its ease and sensuality; its sunset and sunrise,” he added.

Paving the future of Ferragamo, Maximilian previews fresh iterations of timeless silhouettes such as sleek trousers fashioned in supple suede, skin-revealing dresses that feature an open back, functional sports-derived separates and seductively elegant ready-to-wear garments as well as accessories and footwear that breath new life into the fashion house’s signature shade of red. In addition, the first Ferragamo handbags emblematic of this new chapter will feature fresh iterations of the archival Wanda handbag that received high-shine finishes as well as new proportions.

To coincide with this new era, the iconic heritage brand has also introduced The World of Ferragamo, an interactive, virtual experience that invites visitors to digitally explore an exclusive selection of ready-to-wear, handbag and shoe designs from the creative director. Inspired by the SS23 runway show, the multiverse gallery has been swathed in the new vibrant Ferragamo Red and is composed of a central hall that allows access to four distinct areas for key product categories that includes: shoes, handbags, womenswear and menswear.

From November 4-30, the SS23 collection will be available to shop online and in a selection of 17 stores worldwide such as: London Old Bond Street, Paris Avenue Montaigne, Milan, Dubai, Shangai, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, New York Fifth Avenue, Beverly Hills and others.
