Rumors that Phoebe Bridgers and Paul Mescal broke up have been circulating on Twitter this week, and understandably, fans aren’t sure what to make of it.
The pair seemingly got engaged last month, though rumors of that weren’t confirmed by either party, and since then, there’s been a few events which have led fans to believe that things might not be as they seem. Instagram gossip site, DeuxMoi, recently reported that the “engagement” was off, and specifically stated that Mescal was the one to break up with Bridgers.
Since then, a cryptic photo of Bridgers kissing The 1975 frontman, Matty Healy, surfaced online and after that, the “Silk Chiffon” singer has been spotted with comedian Bo Burnham on numerous occasions, sparking additional relationship rumors and leading fans to believe that there may have been some overlap. No splits or new relationships have been confirmed by Mescal or Bridgers, but fans are already trying to work out how they feel about the situation and more importantly — how the couple might feel about it.
One user on Twitter said “If Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers really are done I can only feel pity for him because that man is losing his girlfriend AND his sad girl anthems of choice, she was his top Spotify artist! imagine being unable to listen to your breakup tunes because they’re all by your ex. tragic.”
